Here at the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association of Canada, we’re glad you’re as passionate about our work as we are! We want to help you each step of the way as you journey toward your fundraising goal.
1
Let your personality shine through as you promote your campaign amongst your family and friends. They know you best, so whether you are funny or more on the serious side, the light-hearted jokes and/or sobering statistics you share with them about your campaign will be influential.
2
Enthusiasm can be contagious, so don’t be shy when it comes to sharing why you’re passionate about your campaign!
3
Make a contribution to your own campaign and let others know. By investing alongside your family and friends, you’re not only putting your money where your mouth is, but inspiring them to give too.
4
Make a list of ways you can get in touch with your network, then go for it! Your list might include tweets, Facebook posts or messages, emails, phone calls, visits over a cup of coffee—even snail mail.
5
Do inspiring things to inspire donations. A little bit of imagination goes a long way here! If you’re an artist, maybe you’ll slowly reveal photos of a new painting as you reach 25, 50, 75, and finally 100 per cent of your fundraising goal. If you’re a backyard barbecuer, perhaps you could invite your contacts to a weekend feast and supply the food in return for donations. The possibilities are endless, and we’d love to hear what you come up with off the top of your head!
6
Keep things simple if it helps. A few key family members or friends may be the best people for you to fundraise amongst, and they will feel honored.
7
Put a face to your campaign. Use our website as your resource for stories and videos you can share that relate to your campaign’s project.
8
Say thank you in a meaningful way, whether that’s by making phone calls, delivering thank you cards, or hosting a ‘thank you’ party when your campaign is finished.
Thank you for supporting the work of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association of Canada.
“Jesus came to them and said, ‘All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
